How to make eyeshadow look brighter on the dark eyelids?

I try to make over my sister with colorful eyeshadow for her birthday. But she have dark eyelids. I try to put some base on them but it looks funny. How to make eyeshadow look brighter on the dark eyelids?How to make eyeshadow look brighter on the dark eyelids?
my best friend has dark eyelids too, but she conceal it with a product by Benefit called Benefit lemon aid. it's made to hide discolorations on eyelids.

what i do is i put on blue on but i but a light eyeshadow on and then put like dark eyeshadow near the eye lashes and it makes it betta looking AND i was wondering if anyone knew how to use make up to make your eyes sparkel thanks and your welcome for the tippy thingy lol Report Abuse

not so much brighter colors, look for lighter colors.
putting vaseline over the eyeshadow will make it look shineier!
You never want to use a shadow that's too much lighter than your skin so go for one that's a shade or two lighter. It will bring more attention to her eyes without looking obviously made up. Or you could use a taupe colored eyeshadow matched with a white eyeliner along the top lashes ONLY for an eye widening effect.
Use lighter eyeshadow. like pink,white,yellow, red ect. Stay away from the blacks,browns,tans,and blue ect.
get your applicator wet, it will darken the shadow
Try getting the applicator wet. Or else, maybe put on white shadow first and layer the bright color over it.
the base will look funny because it is not her natural colour. but once you apply the eyeshadow colour it should look good. and be careful with too bright, bright makeup is hard to wear.
